This was a collaborative artist book made with co-author Naomi Collier Broms in 2021, in which we pooled our experiences in archival work and reflected on feminist art-making. Full of citations and cataloguing methods, this book –of which we only printed a very limited number of copies– opened up the conversation of what was (in)visible in a literary archive, and how it became so: which female voices become ghosts, and how we listen to a cacophony of constantly dis/assembling bodies.
The Witch and the Siren was exhibited at the Swimming Pool library exchange in Sofia (Bulgaria) in 2021.
A book is a kiss is a lip is a promise regurgitated from the insides of the living A book perishes slowly without breathing breathing out a testimony no one can hear unless manifested by the same creators that borrowed its body A book marches like a battalion like a metric of someone else´s strategies behold the one voice that can’t be killed surrender your silence not that it belonged to you in the first place.
